THE 1964
REAGAN HIGH SCHOOL
RED COATS

The
following 2 pictures and Red Coat theme are from the 1963 Pennant
Yearbook:

We have
all talked with alumni that have graduated from Reagan & the
first thing anybody ask is, DO THEY STILL HAVE THE RED COATS AT
REAGAN?? Mrs. Rosa Cruz, the Reagan faculty sponsor of the Red
Coats, has informed Raymond Cook, Reagan Athletic Booster Club
President, about her efforts to reestablishing the Red Coats
after about several years of DISBANDMENT of this proud
organization. She told Raymond that the Red Coat equipment was
thrown away. It is all gone, except for ONE BUGLE & A COUPLE
OF CAPES. What she is asking the alumni members to do is write
down some of the traditions that they remember regarding the
heritage of the Red Coats. Mrs. Cruz said she thought the Red
Coats had a military dance or ball called ???. She wants to
establish the history of the Red Coats for her girls to know
& to live up too now and in the future. Please pass on this
message to anybody who was a RED COAT!! Have them write to Mrs.
Cruz at her e-mail address Redcoatone@aol.com
or
call her at Reagan 713-861-5694. Remember THE SOUND OF DRUMS AND
BUGLES MAY HAVE BEEN SILENCED, BUT THE HERITAGE, HONOR, AND
TRADITIONS SHOULD NEVER EVER BE FORGOTTEN OR SILENCED.
